What is the date of the “Athens Marathon. The Authentic”?
“Athens Marathon. The Authentic” is an annual event that takes place every second weekend of November.
The date for the 39th “Athens Marathon. The Authentic” is 12 & 13 of November 2022.
The 10k Road Race OPAP will be held on Saturday 12th November 2022 and the Marathon Race, the 5km Road Race STOIXIMAN , as well as the Kids Race will be held on Sunday 13th November 2022.

How can I register?
Please read our Terms & Conditions of Participation to confirm that you are eligible to participate in our Races.
The Official Registration Period for "Athens Marathon. The Authentic" event opens approximately 6 months before the race date. Registrations will automatically close once the participation limit per race is met or on 1st October at the latest. All registrations are submitted online.

How can I pay?
After you submit your entry form, you may settle your registration fee with either of the following ways:
1) By credit/ debit card (this method is available only right after the entry form submission):2) By bank wire:ATTENTION: In case of a bank wire, you need to make sure that your name and registration code are both mentioned on the transaction receipt. A copy of the transaction receipt should be sent shortly afterwards to the Athens Marathon Office via email (Email: registrations@athensauthenticmarathon.gr).

In order for your registration to be valid, you need to proceed with the settlement of the registration fee within two (2) business days after submission, otherwise your registration will be cancelled with prior notice.

After you have settled your registration fee as above, a registration confirmation email will be sent to you within seven (7) businness days.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations are possible strictly up until 10 September 2022. Any kind of cancellation request should only be sent to the following email: cancellations@athensauthenticmarathon.gr .
In all cases of cancellations requests sent up until the above date to the above email, the registration fee is refunded to the applicant, after the deduction of 10.00€ as handling fees, regardless the race/ level of registration and reason of cancellation. It is noted that any NGO donations are non-refundable. Cancellation requests sent after 10 September 2022 are not accepted and there is no possibility for refunds.
Deferral of one’s entry to the 2023 edition of “Athens Marathon. The Authentic” is NOT possible.
Cancellation of the Event Due to COVID-19
In the case that the 2022 “Athens Marathon. The Authentic” event is cancelled or the Health Protocol of the event is changed after relevant order by the Greek State due to possible health protection measures against the coronavirus pandemic or due to other unforeseen circumstances, the registration of each runner will automatically be transferred/deferred to the next Athens Marathon event and the participation will follow the general terms & regulations of the new event. The same process will apply to the excessive number of runners, in case the number of participants is reduced by a decision of the Greek State, and the participants will be determined in terms of registration priority order.

I have not received the confirmation email, what should I do?
The registration confirmation emails are sent within seven (7) business days after you have succesfully submitted and settled your registration fee as per instructions (read above in “How can I pay?”)
After the seven (7) days have passed and you still have not received it:
1. Check your spam folder in case the e-mail bounced there2. If you still have not found it, make sure you have followed ALL the payment instructions3. If you have settled your registration fee as per instructions, and still have not received the email, contact us at registrations@athensauthenticmarathon.gr
How do I find my bib number?
About ten (10) days before the race, all runners who have successfully registered for any of the event's races will receive an email, informing them about their exact bib number and starting block.
Where do I pick up my bib number and race kit?
All runners are asked to collect their bib numbers and race kits from the Runners' Center & Marathon EXPO, hosted in the Faliro Indoor Hall & Exhibition Centre of Athens, at the Olympic Faliro Coastal Zone.
The Runners' Center will be open for the public as follows:
Wednesday 9 November 2022: 13.00 – 20.00
Thursday 10 November 2022: 10.00 – 20.00
Friday 11 November 2022: 10.00 – 20.00
Saturday 12 November 2022: 10.00 – 18.00

Is there a bag check/depository?
Runners must hand in the kit bag with their personal clothing to the volunteers at the designated areas at least 30 minutes before the start of the race. After finishing the race, runners, assisted by volunteers, may collect back their kit bag presenting their bib number.
What transportation services do you offer for the Marathon Race?
Free Transportation to the Start Area of the Marathon Race is offered by the Organizing Committee, and ONLY for registered runners.
Buses by The Athen Marathon Organizing Committee will be departing constantly from five (5) different points within the Athens Center, from 05.30AM up to 06.45AM, for the (direct and without any stop) transportation of all runners participating in the Marathon Race to the Marathon Start area. After 06.45AM, it will be no longer possible for late runners to use our transportation system and they need to take care of their own transportation to the Marathon Start area, by their own means.

The finish line for ALL Races, is in the historic Panathenaic Stadium.
POST RACE
Where can I see my photos of the race?
You can find individual photos of the race through the webiste of the event's Official Photo Agency marathonphotos.live, a few days after the race.
Where can I see my results?
You can find your results here.
Note that right after the completion of each race you can view the Unofficial Results on our website. Runners have the oportunity to object their race results within five (5) business days. After that period any objections are recorded-investigated and resolved and the Official Results of each race are announced. After the announcement of the Official Results any runners that is included in them can download for free their Cartificate of Participation through the website of marathonphotos.live.
