In a very difficult period for our country, SEGAS, a sports federation, decidedt o show to the world that Greece may be going through difficult times but does not lose the values that diachronically carry through its history and its culture!

After concerted efforts of the President of SEGAS, UNESCO, the largest international supporter of the United Nations, is now a supporter of the Athens Classic Marathon.

We would like to wish good luck to the participants of the 29th Athens Classic Marathon! We hope you enjoy the race and have an unforgettable experience. If you do not run tomorrow you may participate in the race by supporting the runners!!!

 

The Athens Classic Marathon Organizing Committee and the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS), which is the Official Organizer of the event, jointly announce the final closing of registrations for the 5km and 10km of the 2011 Athens Classic Marathon event.

Unfortunately, there are no cancellations or returned entries that could be offered to those who missed the registration deadline of October 10, 2011.

Registrations in the Marathon and Power Walking are still available until Friday 14/10/2011. We invite all those who wish to participate in any of these races to contact the Athens Classic Marathon Office.

We would like to sincerely thank all those who submitted their registration in time, supporting this significant, historical and sporting event.

 

The Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS) and the Athens Classic Marathon Organizing Committee announce that all available entries for the 5km and 10km Road Races of the event have been completely booked, therefore the registration system cannot accept any further entries. The participation limit for the 5km Road Race is 3.500 runners and 10Km Road Race is 4.500 runners. This limit for each race has been set for the safety of the runners and the efficient organization of all Road Races.

The Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS) and the Athens Classic Marathon Organizing Committee, taking under consideration the extensive interest and response of the runners to participate in the races of this year’s Marathon event, as well as the deadline of the registration (Monday, October 10), announcesfor all those who intend to complete their registration in time that our offices will be open during the weekend 08 and 09 October 2011 (Saturday and Sunday) from 10.00am to 16.00pm.
