Greece travels worldwide thanks to AIMS, SEGAS and OPAP. OPAP S.A., Grand Sponsor of the Athens Classic Marathon, is also the main supporter of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and of several actions organized all around the world.
Among these initiatives, one may find a Childrens Race part of a races series under the name AIMS children's Series that took place in Asuncion, Paraguay, in the context of the homonymous International Marathon. More than 1,500 children from 6 to 16 years old, took part in the race, setting a unique record for the country. The massive participation of young runners from Paraguay passed beneath the Start Arch of AIMS on which Greece is advertised (see photo).
Paco Borao, AIMS President stated: "All Members of AIMS and their supporters (having already done reference to Greece and to OPAP ) are full of passion and committed in promoting childrens running worldwide. We are very happy that we brought the AIMS Children's Series in Paraguay for the first time ".
The race in Asuncion was the last one for 2013. The new circle of this series will commence in March in Zimbabwe, sponsored by "VisitGreece" and OPAP S.A., while similar events will follow: April in Tanzania, May in South Africa and the race will return once more in Asuncion expecting even greater participation.
