The 39th "ATHENS MARATHON. THE AUTHENTIC" is a two-day event (Saturday November 12th & Sunday November 13th 2022)
Race day availability is COMPULSORY on Sunday during the Marathon Race day - 5km Road Race (13/11/2022) with a minimum of (5.5 hours).
PLEASE ΝΟΤΕ: On Saturday (12/11/2022) the shift is available only on the AFTERNOON supporting the 10km road race.
Volunteers will also be given the opportunity to participate during the pre-race period of the event by simply selecting the option upon applying with us and filling in their availability.

Race Day Opportunities
1. Start of Marathon Race and Power Walking (Marathon Start Venue)
The volunteers assist to the management of buses that transport athletes from the center of Athens at the start of the Race, they provide the runners with the necessary information, they distribute water bottles and windproof jackets and they are responsible for runners' clothing (pick-up and transfer at the finish area delivery stations).
2. Marathon course support stations
Volunteers assist with the setup, operation and cleanup of support stations, that provide athletes with bottles of water, isotonic drinks, bananas, energy bars and sponges while they encourage runners to continue their difficult effort.
3.Start and support stations of 10 km, 5 km road races, Kids Run 1.200m
Volunteers at the start of the races taking place at the center of Athens assist at the forming of human chains that serve as starting blocks separators. They are also placed at support stations (as above), they are responsible for crossroads crowd management and for the management of runners' clothing (safekeeping and post-race delivery). Volunteering opportunities are exactly the same during the 10km road race.
4. Finish Area (Panathenaic Stadium)
Volunteers participate in access control, control of the flow of runners, distribution of isothermal blankets, water bottles and isotonic drinks to runners. They also help at spectators' services, runners' clothing delivery stations.
Pre-Race Preparation Period Opportunities (29/10/2022 - 12/11/2022)
1. Athens Marathon Preparation Center, Faliro Indoor Hall (Tae Kwon Do Olympic Venue, 29/10/2022 - 8/11/2022)
-Preparation and packaging of race kits distributed to all runners at the Athens Marathon EXPO.
2. Athens Marathon Registration Center (EXPO), Faliro Indoor Hall (Tae Kwon Do Olympic Venue, 9/11/2022 - 12/11/2022)
-Distribution of bib numbers to registered runners (individual registrations)
-Group Registrations Desks
-Information Desk
3. Athens Marathon Desk (Athens International Airport “El. Venizelos”, 9/11/2022-12/11/2022)
-Reception of participants from abroad and Information Desk
4. Parallel events (TBC)
-Spectators service / staffing of special events
