The Hellenic Athletics Federation could not have been touched by the horror and the sadness spread all over our country the last days after the uncontrolled wildfires in Eastern Attica, that led to the tragic loss of tens of human lives.

Wishing to support those that have been affected and are suffering by the killing wildfires in Eastern Attica, the Executive Board of the Hellenic Athletics Federation has decided the following:

“On behalf of the entire family of Greek Athletics, SEGAS decides that part of the revenue of the social liability program run by the Federation within the framework of the 2018 Athens Marathon will be deposited to the bank account announced by the Greek State for the relief of the victims of the killing wildfires in Eastern Attica.”

Other initiatives regarding the support of the affected areas and communities will be announced before this year’s Athens Marathon event.
