Last year was just a start. This year we are coming back stronger and with a much better structured event.

The Hellenic Athletics Federation, in cooperation with the Municipality of Athens, are proud to announce the 2nd ATHENS HALF MARATHON to be held on March 31, 2013; an event that is the absolute test before the next Athens Classic Marathon just in the middle of the way there, as well as a unique opportunity to run along the most historic and significant areas of the City of Athens.

For the first time in the history of the City, a running event will start just in front of Syntagma Square and the Greek Parliament and

will finish in the front yard of Zappeion Megaro. The Half Marathon Race will be held in parallel with a 5km and a 3km Road Race as well as a 600m Race especially designed for people with disabilities and Special Olympics athletes.

The official website of the ATHENS HALF MARATHON will be launched tomorrow morning and online registrations will be available.

The number of runners that attended the event last year was impressive. This year we aim at even greater numbers of runners and spectators that will embrace the event and turn it into a city running festival.

We are looking forward to seeing you all there!
